Keep going!

I went for a run this evening and returned home a bit giddy.

It was a typical run…until mile four. That’s when I met a woman who I have seen a few times in recent weeks. She’s a walker. Aside from that, I hadn’t paid much attention. We have give brief waves and moved along. But tonight was different. When I met her this evening, she yelled across the street,”You’re my inspiration! You inspire me every time! Keep going!” Her fists we’re pumping and she was just beaming.

Wow. It caught me a bit off guard. I gave a quick smile and thumbs up and trotted along on my way. My mind, however, was still there in that moment. You know, you see those inspiration quotes on Pinterest that read ” you never know who you’re inspiring”. I love the thought, but had never experienced it. I’m just a slow runner out there putting in the miles. Nothing impressive here. But tonight I realized the truth behind that statement. You might just be someone’s inspiration and not even know it!

My friends, do whatever it is you do. Be proud. Do it with a smile on your face. Don’t worry about perfection. That’s not where it’s at. Keep trying. Keep working. “Keep going!”
